Technical IT Support Engineer

Technical IT Support Engineer

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting for a Technical IT Support Technician to work for our well established client based out of their head office just north of Derby.

This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience as a Technical IT Support Engineer or in a similar role providing support for a large number of clients’ IT infrastructure, you will have a good background in dealing with clients on site and possess excellent customer service skills.

Previous experience of carrying out independent installations and resolving application and equipment issues will be key for performing in this Technical IT Support Engineer role.

Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Provide support, including maintenance, installation, and upgrades on clients’ IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and application issues on site
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients on site, including senior management teams both internally and externally
  • Lead and mentor more junior members of the team
  • Carry out investigations on faults without defined causes
  • To apply, you will have:

  • Technical Support – 1 year
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows 10, Windows Office 2016, Windows Server 2012R2 and Exchange Server 2015
  • Possess in depth knowledge of networking, backup and virtualisation technologies (VMWare)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office365 and Lync
  • Demonstrable experience with firewalls, routing and VLAN technologies
  • Ideally you will have MCSE / MCITP Qualification
  • Candidate must be mobile and hold a UK driving license.

    Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting for an experienced Lead IT Engineer to work for this well known engineering supplier.

This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience as a Lead IT Engineer or experience in a similar IT Management role. You will have the ability to manage a demanding workload, excellent communication and reporting skills, and the ability to mentor and develop team members.

As the Lead IT Engineer, you will play a key role within the business and report directly to key senior management members across the business.

Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Infrastructure management
  • Disaster recovery management and raising potential risks to investigate further
  • Management of the WAN/ Telecom services
  • Management of the security aspects of the network and shared directory
  • Development of colleagues to assist with career development
  • Manage the 1st and 2nd Line support for the business

    • An excellent ability to manage a demanding workload, including communicating to key stakeholders on SLAs
    • Strong knowledge of a Hyper V/ Virtual Environment

As the IT Support Technician, you will provide effective IT support across all aspects of the business and this a great opportunity to further your career within the IT sector.

Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

  • 1st Line Support to investigate technical issues face to face, via phone or e-mail
  • Escalation of issues to 2nd line support where required
  • Diagnosis and resolution of technical issues
  • Setup and installation of new equipment
  • Ensuring best security practices are applied to end user devices and providing helpful advice on this to end users where required
  • Ensuring all registers for equipment, software and users are maintained
  • Creating purchase requisitions
  • Troubleshooting software issues
  • Logging, Managing and Resolving support tickets as they are logged on our ITSM
