Senior Quantity Surveyor

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for this highly reputable construction company with multi million pound projects nationwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for those with M&E experience as a Quantity Surveyor who want to lead their own projects as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Participate in tender handover from estimating department
  • Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders as required within the team and in conjunction with the PM/Operations Manager
  • Procure Sub Contract packages, approve sub contract orders ensuring compliance with specification, drawings and employers requirements
  • Produce project cash flow forecast
  • Prepare and submit client applications accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage subcontract applications and ensure work packages are valued correctly and on time
  • Ensure monthly applications are certified on time and invoiced as appropriate
  • Manage and agree subcontract instructions and variations
  • Produce detailed take offs, understand and read design drawings
  • Ensure compliance with contractual procedures and agreed scope of works, issuing all contractual notifications for any changes to the agreed contract i.e. Early warning notice, delay notice, compensation events, extension of time requests etc
  • Attendance on each project site to review works undertaken and walk round valuations and attend any commercial or contractual meetings
  • Prepare, submit and agree the client final account
  • Carry out and assist PM with Value Engineering as appropriate
  • Review and report on Team Commercial performance
  • Risk Management- work with the Project Manager to produce and maintain risk and opportunity registers
  • To apply, you will have:

    • A high standard of education including literacy and numeracy
    • Degree qualified in an RICS approved QS course would be advantageous
    • experience in a commercial or QS role
    • Car Allowance
    • Location: Epsom

      Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
