About the Role
IT Support Technician
Inspire Resourcing are exclusively working with a client in the Derbyshire region, who are recruiting for an IT Support Technician. This is a fantastic role to support users within the business.
Based predominantly in Derbyshire, you will be required to work across all sites and potentially attend to resolve technical issues.
Main Responsibilities:
To work as part of the IT Team to provide first and second line technical support and solutions to all users IT systems, computers, telephone networks and applications.
· Escalating in a timely manner to other members of the team as required.
· To work within a team to deliver an effective IT support function
· Predominantly working with the frontline support team, but to assist the Head of IT, Operations Manager and IT Project Manager as required.
· Ensure the effective use of all systems providing support to ensure systems are reliable.
· Respond to system queries in relation to all systems across the group.
· Ensure the effective use of the IT Helpdesk software to give a clear and precise log of events.
· Ensuring SLAs are met and take responsibility for own work and tickets and priorities.
· Be part of the IT rota and on call support team
· Be part of a lively and close team and be always a team player.
· To manage the safe, organised and tidy storage of equipment, consumables, desk, office area and all areas of IT.
· To ensure all work is carried out in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
· To ensure all systems have excellent uptime.
· Contribute to the development of documentation in respect of operational IT procedures and IT policies, network and system logs and documentation and take responsibility to update as appropriate.
· Attend meetings and training as required.
· Assist with the management and support for the day-to-day use of external IT contractors, suppliers and support companies.
· To log and work with support companies to ensure systems are available to users.
· To work with the team on the vision of Excellence
· To develop a strong fault finding and resolution output on a complex network.
· To work with the IT team to ensure networks are maintained at a high level of security.
· Reporting immediately any illegal activity to the Head of Group IT.
· Carrying out IT Housekeeping tasks
· To ensure a safe environment for yourself and others and comply with H&S laws.
Requirements
Person Specification
· Level 3 in IT or similar
· Desktop / software knowledge
· Have knowledge of Anti-Virus, network security and backup procedures
· Driving license to attend sites
· Strong Microsoft Office skills
Hours: Rota basis within a shift pattern covering 5 days over 7 day period.
Salary: Up to £29k
